Deirdre Walsh

Community Manager and Social Media Strategist, National Instruments
As the community & social media manager at National Instruments, Deirdre fosters a global community for engineers working on applications ranging from LEGO software to hardware for the CERN supercollider.

She also provides marketing strategy for "ecosystem" projects, including virtual user group and software partnerships, and spearheads word-of-mouth campaigns that involve lead evangelists, brand blogs, viral videos, and social networks.  Deirdre connects developers offline as well through community-focused activities at user conferences and other events.

Prior to this role, Deirdre was a media relations and public affairs specialist for high-profile organizations like Allstate, British Gas, Hewlett-Packard, and the Houston Marathon.  She graduated in 2002 with a bachelor of science in public relations and minors in business and English from The University of Texas at Austin.
