Scott Ballantyne

VP & General Manager, Personal Systems Group, Hewlett Packard
Scott S. Ballantyne has spent the last 20 years leading international high-technology branding, marketing and business teams with some of the world's largest and most successful corporations in various product categories.

Currently, Ballantyne is the VP & General Manager for Hewlett Packard's (HP) Personal Systems Group (PSG) direct business unit. In this position he has overall responsibility for product development, value-proposition deployment, promotions and placement for all aspects of the direct businesses within the Americas and has full PL responsibilities. . He leads a team of marketing, operations, business development and finance professionals and reports into the overall Americas PSG organization.  

HP is the global leader in the personal computing space with over 30% of market space. It is also the largest IT Company in the world being the 1st publicly listed company to record yearly sales in excess of $100 billion!

Prior to HP, Ballantyne was the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at InFocus Corporation (NASDAQ: INFS) where he led all of the global marketing efforts for the front-projection industry's leader. As a section 16C officer, he reported the CEO and led public policy as well as all consumer acquisition and retention efforts in a multi-channel environment.

A native of Scotland, Ballantyne studied Physics as his undergraduate degree at the prestigious School of Technology at The University of Paisley. He then embarked on a 12-year career with Motorola Semiconductors which, after living and working in Europe and Asia, brought him to the U.S. as a Director of a global business unit in 1996.  It was during his tenure at Motorola that, as the youngest ever employee to the program, he was sponsored through their award-winning executive MBA program, in association with Business School at The University of Glasgow.

Ballantyne has also attained executive experience with Dell Computer Corporation, Asia Global Crossing Ltd and T-Mobile USA. He has led and managed small and large businesses, regional and global efforts and been involved in both breakthrough and large-scale business segments.

Now a permanent US resident alien, Ballantyne and his family reside in the Bay Area, CA. They are active in the community and dedicate significant time to both local and global cancer prevention activities. He also serves on the National Advisory Board of the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV)

A mature, self starting, dynamic business leader, Ballantyne has built a career on consumer insights and results-driven marketing execution. He has proven success in various industries along with solid relationships with the press, industry observers and community.
