Benjamin Beberness Director of Applications, PacifiCorp Benjamin, a native Oregonian, grew up in Milwaukie (notice it is spelled with ie) and attended Portland State University where he graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science.  Right after school he went to Houston Texas to work for Lockheed at NASA Johnson Space Center.  Benjamin wrote software for NASA Space Station.  In fact not only did he write the software, but he tested the software in zero G on the KC135 flight also known as the “Vomit Comet”.  After he had had enough of that, he work in the Space and Life Science field to develop real-time data acquisition systems for NASA medical researchers.  Benjamin finally worked his way back to Portland via Vail Colorado working for companies like Deliotte &Touche Consulting Group / DRT Systems.  Today, Benjamin is the Director of Applications for PacifiCorp providing leadership, planning, development, and delivery of information technology services for Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power.  He is responsible for the strategy and 24/7 support operations of the real-time energy management system / Supervisor Control And Data Acquisition (EMS/SCADA) in addition to the outage management environment. Benjamin spends most of his free time coaching sports for his kids and is the volunteer Athletic Director for school their school.
