Rich Bader

President and Chief Executive Officer, EasyStreet Online Services

Rich and his team at EasyStreet have built Oregon's largest independent Internet and IT service provider by focusing on the needs of local businesses and delivering reliable service day in and day out.

After earning his BSEE from Northeastern University, Rich gathered more than 30 years of experience in the high tech industry, beginning at Digital Equipment in the '70s. He relocated to Oregon in 1978 to join Intel, where he was founder and co-general manager of the Personal Computer Enhancement Operation, which launched Intel into the personal computer end-user marketplace.

Rich recharged his batteries after leaving Intel in 1990 by playing with state-of-the-art products and writing about them for Stewart Alsop's PC Letter, a newsletter widely read by leaders in the personal computer industry. That led to four years as a consultant, assisting companies such as Intel, HP and Microsoft develop business plans and products. Then the Internet happened. Tired of traveling away from his family and looking to become more of a contributor to the region he loves, EasyStreet was conceived and launched in 1995.

Ten successful years later, EasyStreet's quality of service and community involvement earned it the title "One of Oregon?s Most Admired Technology Companies" in The Portland Business Journal's 2005 survey of Oregon CEOs.

In addition to leading EasyStreet and working closely with customers, Rich is well known and active in Portland's high tech circles. He is on the board and executive committee of the Software Association of Oregon, and he serves on the board of the Open Technology Business Center. Rich was appointed to the Oregon Growth Account board by Gov. Kulongoski.
