Mark Edlen

Managing Principal, Gerding Edlen Development

Co-founded by Bob Gerding and Mark Edlen in 1996, Gerding Edlen is committed to leaving a positive legacy for future generations. The firm consistently searches for innovative development solutions that enhance our communities while protecting the natural landscape and conserving natural resources. Understanding that community building and environmental sustainability also contributes to a healthy economy and makes good business sense, Gerding Edlen has helped create sustainable communities in Oregon, California, Arizona, Utah and Washington. Currently, Gerding Edlen is committed to decreasing energy use in its buildings by 50 percent in comparison to more typical code-designed buildings. By 2011 the company is dedicated to constructing buildings that generate more energy than they consume, and consume more waste than they generate.  
 
As a company, Gerding Edlen is also deeply involved in supporting organizations that benefit the arts, children and the sustainability movement.

Mark received a B.S. in Finance and an M.B.A. from the University of Oregon.
