Nancy Kent

Managing Director, Information Technology, PacifiCorp

Nancy Kent is managing director and co-leads the information technology function at PacifiCorp. She was appointed to this position in August 2006. Kent is responsible for all information technology applications, operational controls, compliance audits, information security, and project management and delivery. She also shares PacifiCorp’s chief information officer role with a colleague in the “two in a box” business model.  

Kent joined PacifiCorp in 1984 as data center manager. She has held various positions of increased responsibility at PacifiCorp. As data center manager Kent was responsible for building and relocating the 20,000-foot data center from the company’s downtown Portland office to the Lloyd District office. As director for corporate security she was responsible for quality management, physical and information security, disaster recovery, risk management, business continuity and emergency management policies and programs. As managing director of delivery systems, Kent was responsible for cyber security, compliance and delivery services supporting approximately 400 plus systems including SAP, EMS/SCADA, customer service system and several hundred smaller stand-alone and integrated systems that support the company’s business operations 

Prior to joining PacifiCorp, Kent worked at North Pacific Insurance in Portland as an information technology specialist supporting the customer service system.

Kent earned an associate degree in business from the Nebraska Western College and holds several certificates in management and leadership education.

Kent is chair of Edison Electrical Institute’s security committee.
 
She volunteers as a substitute coach for a local grade school pee-wee girl’s basketball team.

Kent lives in Vancouver, Wash., and is an avid football fan, enjoys golf, wine tasting, horse riding, skiing, travel and riding her Harley-Davidson.
